We are back!!….. but with some things you need to know

We are thrilled that the Mt Evelyn Community Toy Library will be reopen for 2022.

Please read through all the below information to understand how we will be reopening, and please get in touch if you have any questions.   Our toy library is bound by the Community Facilities categorisation of the Roadmap, and so things may be a little tighter than they are in other sectors.

Please remember that we are a volunteer run organisation, and we ask for kindness and understanding as we are doing our best to get the toy library back up and running.

Duties and Opening Times

Duty Volunteers will be required in order for our sessions to run. If you are yet to nominate yourself for a session, please do so here.

All volunteers must be double vaccinated to do duty under the Community Facilities Mandate.

We look forward to seeing you all soon,

The Yarra Ranges Community Toy Libraries Committee

COVID opening details

  • Due to Victorian regulations, only those who have received two doses of a COVID vaccination will be allowed to enter the toy library.  All attendees MUST show a valid certificate or have proof of valid exemption on them every time they enter the toy library – we will not be maintaining records on vaccination status so please bring your proof to each visit.   Children under 16 do not need to be vaccinated so long as they are accompanied by an adult who is.
  • Hand sanitizer & Services Vic Check In will be mandatory on entry.
  • Masks will be required inside unless carrying proof of a valid exemption.
  • We will not be requiring bookings on this occassion, please ensure you physically distance while in the library.
  • We ask that where possible only one family member visits the toy library and encourage no children. We understand that this may not always be possible so if you need to bring children please try to keep young children in your view and limit time spent returning and selecting new toys.
  • Members will be required to return toys sanitized, clean & DRY. We will require you to state they are clean when returning. If they are not clean you will be required to take them home again to clean.
  • Please count the toys prior to returning them & email us at toys@yarrarangestoylibraries.com.au if there are any missing pieces before returning. (We understand they’ve been borrowed for a longer time on this occasion, please DO NOT STRESS)
  • When you have selected your toys, please count them at home & email us within 24 hours to toys@yarrarangestoylibraries.com.au to let us know if anything is missing. If this email is not received within 24 hours we will assume the toy is fine.
  • Please ensure you read the COVID safe policy and cleaning guide that we will place on the website, as well as in the FB member’s group

COVID safe documents & policies

Members who are not vaccinated

If you are a member of the toy library and have not received two doses of an approved vaccine, you will unfortunately not be permitted to enter the toy library.

We encourage you to send a friend who is fully vaccinated in your place, they can return and borrow on your behalf. Alternatively, we can offer a suspension to your membership until these restrictions are over.

However, we will still require that all toys be returned before the end of the year – please contact us to arrange this.

Thanks on behalf of the volunteer committee
